Currently, the "Exclude from Performance Review" setting on competencies is a global toggle, meaning any change dynamically affects all open reviews. This makes it impossible to run concurrent reviews where different competency groups apply to different cohorts (e.g. managers vs. staff).
Requested Enhancement:
Allow competency groups to be selected or excluded at the review template level, rather than globally. This would enable administrators to configure, for example:
- A manager review template that includes Company Values + Leadership competencies
- A staff review template that includes Company Values + Technical Skills competencies
Both templates could then run concurrently without interfering with each other.
Business Case:
This is one of the most consistently requested enhancements we receive from clients. Multiple mid-to-large enterprise clients across different industries have raised this requirement within recent months. The current workaround (global exclude toggle) is not viable when reviews for different cohorts need to run at the same time.
Suggested Implementation:
A multi-select field on the review template configuration screen allowing admins to choose which competency group/s to include. Competency groups not selected would simply not appear in that review cycle.
